The French Federation of Philatelic Associations (FFAP) is, as its name suggests, a group of associations.
The Regional Group is a relay between the Federation and the associations. Its goals are:
promoting the work of the Federation and its publications,
examining requests for membership, resignation or cancellation,
examining disputes within it,
participation in philatelic activity of a national, interregional, regional or departmental nature (organization of congresses, exhibitions, Stamp Festivals, trade fairs, etc.),
the organization of bilateral events.
He must be a force for proposals for the full effectiveness of the Federation.
It appoints one or more Federal Administrators (depending on its staff).
The Federation has a website: www.ffap.net.

The Maine Anjou Touraine group is:
a Regional Committee:
The Regional Committee, made up of delegates from the federated associations of the Group, meets twice a year: in the spring for the General Assembly and in the fall for an intermediate meeting. The organizers of these meetings traditionally offer a welcome breakfast and a tourist visit to accompanying persons during the sessions.

Philatelic days:
Twice a year, philatelic days offer two sessions, on a theme and and on postal history. Lectures, studies and comments on various exhibits are on the agenda. A time slot is also available to the Regional Youth Advisor who gives us the latest information. Another window is left open for the exchange of documents.
These sessions are generally attended by around thirty people from the four departments.

the "Challenge MAT":
The challenge is open to all philatelists, young people and adults, members of a federated association from region 18. It offers them to make a twelve-page exhibit on a subject of their choice. All philately classes are admitted including the free one. The latter makes it possible to present any collector's item, even non-philatelic, provided that they can be shown in frames such as " GRINAND ". It is a public vote which chooses the three best participations which cannot be represented later. A participation certificate is given to each participant. Advice can be given to exhibitors as they wish.

joint projects:
the " DAG MAT " identifies the location of DAGUIN machines, their periods of use and the different types of presentation (twin - solo - advertising...). In each department of the Group, a representative is in charge of collecting cancellations " DAGUIN ". During our working meetings, each representative presents their findings and shares them with correspondents from other departments.
a list of the works in the libraries of the clubs of the Group allows their overall inventory and facilitates their consultation if necessary.
the " BD MAT " is a database of postal history documents from all eras concerning our four departments. Under development, it will make it possible to keep a trace of the documents for future research.
NB: these projects are the subject of a more complete presentation in the chapter "What do we propose?"
Stamp festivals:
The group provides a subsidy to each club organizing the Stamp Festival to help them organize this event. It also covers meals for jurors appointed for the annual interdepartmental exhibition.
